For the WordCamp Montclair 2022 event, we’ve chosen the School of Communications and Media building on the campus of Montclair State University. We think you’ll like it as much as we do!
This expansive, two-level, state-of-the-art building has killer views of the Manhattan skyline. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to relax, meet sponsors, make business connections and new friends, and catch up with old friends. Or, feel free to find a cozy corner to enjoy a cup of coffee!
Accessibility
Our conference venue is accessible to those utilizing assistive devices such as wheelchairs and scooters. Elevator access connects our two presentation spaces.

Campus Map
Whether you are parking in the lot or are walking to the campus from public transportation, you will be heading in the direction of Valley Road.
Many buildings have a similar architectural style – red terracotta tiled roof and white exterior. Please note: The School of Communications and Media building has a tower to the left of the entrance doors.
Parking
Park your car in the Red Hawk Deck. Current pricing is capped at $12 a day (price varies based upon hours parked). After you park your car, you’ll see maps indicating the way to the School of Communications and Media (a five-minute walk).
Please park in the Red Hawk lot. Otherwise, you risk your car being ticketed and/or towed.
How to get here
If you’re traveling from New York City, there are four ways to reach Montclair State University – bus, train, car, or car service (Uber, Lyst, taxi). The good news is some buses stop within the campus, in front of the Red Hawk parking lot.
Traveling by train? Disembark at the Bay Street Station in Montclair. Then take Uber or Lyft to Montclair State University. The train does not stop at the MSU station on Saturdays.

About Montclair
Montclair is an ‘urban suburb’ – a mix of city and town. We boast a trendy and welcoming downtown area with a robust array of places to enjoy all kinds of great food – restaurants, cafes, trattorias, and pizzerias.
Meet for drinks? There are plenty of lounges, bars, taverns, and pubs. Better yet, have drinks on a hotel rooftop lounge while enjoying stunning views of Manhattan.
It’s a great walking town with lots to see! There are tree-lined streets filled with historic homes, hidden lanes, hiking trails, two formal gardens, and 23 parks!
If museums, historical places, or shopping are your thing, we’ve got those, too! There are unique shops, bookstores, and trendy boutiques all over town.
