WordCamps are committed to diversity and equality, and we take our Code of Conduct seriously. We welcome and encourage people of all experiences, genders, ethnicities, and ages to apply.

General guidelines for speakers and facilitators

Sessions should be relevant to the world of WordPress. We are looking for a mix of talks and workshops that will appeal to attendees of all levels – WordPress beginners, theme and plugin developers, or anyone involved in managing WordPress sites of any size.

We are interested in talks that expand the knowledge of the WordPress community, highlighting new and innovative ideas, tools, and examples.

You do not need to be a professional speaker, but you should be knowledgeable about the topic you will be presenting or the workshop material you plan to facilitate.

First-time speakers are welcome and encouraged to apply. If you need some inspiration, take a look at the talks on WordPress TV.

Submissions will be reviewed by the organizing team using a semi-blind submission process to encourage diversity in speakers and topics. The initial review and ranking will be based solely on the title and description of the talk. Before the event, be prepared to team up with an organizer to review and refine your speaker slides, workshop content or other material for your presentation.

Speakers will have free admission to WordCamp Montclair. At this time we cannot reimburse travel, lodging, or other expenses.

Speakers must agree to follow our Code of Conduct.

By Mike Auteri

Mike is a New Jersey-based web professional living and coding in the suburbs.

During business hours you will find him in his home office building awesome things for some very cool publishers. Mike has worked on Rolling Stone, Variety, Billboard, CNET, and many others.

A little about him personally. Mike is married to the wonderful Steph Auteri, who is a writer, editor, blogger, social media guru, yoga instructor, and mommy to our beautiful daughter, Emily Lorraine.

A little more about him. Mike watches entirely too much television, drinks good beer, fences, eats things that incorporate hot sauce, and sometimes plays guitar and video games. He has also been reading a bit more lately, which is good.

WordCamp Montclair is over. Check out the next edition!
